Twin life
As you may know I am one half of a set of twin girls, my twin sister is also arty, Emma runs her own, very successful, cake business called Cut The Cake Kitchen. Our twin life is never dull, we often get asked, what's it like being a twin? I thought as one half of our egg I would enlighten you to the pros an cons of being an identical twin.
Lets start with the good stuff:
1.You’re never alone from day dot (10 minutes of our lives we had apart, when 1 was in and the other was out).
2. You have a ready made best mate.
3. There is always someone on hand to back you up.
4. There is always someone on hand to take the fall for you 😇
5. You can rely on your twin to tell you how it is and it doesn't hurt, it's like listening to your conscience.
6. You have the freedom to call your twin any name you like, knowing it will be forgotten in seconds.
7. You can have a conversation nobody else will ever understand.
8. You can pretend you are your twin when a complete shite says hello to you, you just give them the 'do I know you?' look.
9. It's fun to dress the same (mostly unknowingly).
10. It's funny when you realize your sat the same, stood the same and speak at the same time.
11. It freaks people out that we sound the same, mostly our kids 😂
12. The best of all, when your twins mate is talking to you and half way through the convo, the penny drops......your not the right twin, jokes on you stupid!!
13. You have the ability to read what your twin is thinking just from a micro second look on her face...genius!
14. You never have to walk into anywhere alone.
15. You have the right to announce 'I am an identical twin' suck on that!
16. You can create nervous tension and doubt with the above comment.
17. You get to share your Birthday
The down side (yup there's a few)
1. The names, twinnie, twinzie, twicers, double trouble, Twix, Bros (yes we had that one, thanks nob heads)
2. The questions.....are you two twins, like holy shit we didn't notice!
3. To our mum.... How do you tell them apart? We're her babies..... Wally!!
4. What's it like being a twin? We don't know what's it like not being a twin?
5. Can you read each others minds? Yes my sister thinks you’re a complete twonk.
6. When your fella puts his arm around your twin, shame!
7. When you phone your twin and her fella answers with 'hello you sexy bitch, what time you coming home' cringe!!!!
8. When your mum dressed you the same.
9. Opening presents on your birthday, when your relatives make you stand back to back.
10. Sharing your birthday 😞
11. Always getting the same presents just in different god damn colours (were is the creativity)
12. Finding £10 and always getting £5
13. Never getting away with it, didn't matter who did it, yes they will punish you both.
14. Getting accused of copying each others school work. It never happened 😭
15. You will always be recognised, you have double the chance of someone knowing you.
16. Getting picked on for being a twin, I never understood why someone would double their chances of getting smacked in the face.
I could add so much more, every set of twins have their own funny stories and other twins like meeting twins.
