Time for change?
It would seem I'm at this strange point on my artistic path, a change is about to erupt, well not so much erupt as a slight little poof. I've been enjoying creating pet portraits for a while now and I love nothing more than seeing the face of my recipient when they see their much adored pooch in art form, It does bring great job satisfaction and yeah I hear everyone when they say "but that's what your good at" and thanks yall!
Hear me out.... I set upon this journey to improve, to learn and to be creative but I'm stale like the last biscuit in the pack of torn open Jammie Dodgers, could it be that this is it? I can only draw a cat? A dog? A miniature Russian hamster?
I admire other artistic creative types that can stay within the restraints of their chosen style or theme but that's just it, do I have to? I see on social media artists that paint amazing portraits of celebrities others that draw stunning birds and more and more geometric shape artists with mesmerizing designs, this I am sure is pleasing to the portfolio eye and I am sure this shows great commitment.
But......
I cannot do it....okay! I said it, I am greedy! I want it all! I like to be free, not Pigeon holed, I like being versatile.
So my question is this, is it okay to work in more than one style? And my thought is …….. YES! there are no rules right? (go forth and create).
